The Botahtaung Police Force held a press briefing after arresting Actor Ye' Deight for his solo demonstration at the Saint Mary's Cathedral, Christian Church, in Yangon on May 28, 2013. At the moment, actor Ye' Deight is detained at the Botahtaung Police Station and he was accused of insulting religious rules and disciplines of the Saint Mary's Cathedral.

Can that police really read the statement in Burmese? I have no idea why Ye' Dight acted like that but there must be a reason for doing this.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, according to various sources, the chronicle was that he first tried to respect Jesus in the church as a Buddhist but fathers of that church or whoever in charge of Saint Mary Cathedral did not allow him to do that giving the reason of being a Buddhist or non-Christian, revealed by the actor Ye Deight. After the second attempt, he self-protested with a vinyl with the message as you saw in the video. Some of facebook users conclude that he is trying to ignite sparks between Catholics and Buddhists in order to change the current subject of tensions between Buddhists and Muslims, the latter is whom he was and he converted to Buddha very recently. The reason why he spoke in English as a Burmese speaking citizen in Myanmar is controversy and questionable.

ReplyDeletehe sure is a celebrity.. anyhow i praised him that he has gut to do such thing...there must be right and wrong side,( in some case both party is right).. but i dont want to pin on who is right and who is wrong..just emphasize only on action,who dare to do such thing like him..so i guess myanmar actor never lag behind Hollywood actor..
